Hi,

Hypothetically speaking if www.losangeles.com or www.newyork.com were worth $250,000 how much would you imagine www.new-york.com or www.los-angeles.com would be worth.

I can't seem to find any data to compare value of a hyphenated compared to non hyphenated. Possibly 1/10th the value???

I'm in talks over a domain (neither the top two unfortunately!) and any insight would be very helpful at this stage.

Thanks, Phil

Go to namebio.com & enter '-' into the search field (without apostrophes) and it will list sales of hyphenated names.

you cant use any formula of percentages. some low sales , some high. i've sold hyphenated names in the xx,xxx range.

there are a lot of steals out there.

using the new-york example. off top of my head new-york.info sold for about $20k i think , non-hyphenated ,double or treble i think.

namebio is a good site anyhow, lists many of reported sales

Where do namebio get their facts from?

I typed in one of my domain names and apparently it sold a week ago for $8,841

LOL
Yeah, they get some stuff wrong, but its 95% correct, or better.
They get stats from dnjournal, private sellers, dnf, sedo, afternic, auctions etc

Its a great little resource imo
