After nearly losing all my files the last time my laptop screwed up, I bought this flash memory drive a while back (the top one pictured): http://www.acorndomains.co.uk/general-board/87613-usb-flash-drive-help-please.html#post323814

All my files are saved, so that's not a problem, my laptop was playing up again the other day, and was fine when I shut it down last night, today it wont start at all, makes all the right noises, but the caps lock key keeps flashing a white light on and off, after some checking on the HP support forum, appears to be an error code for several things like CPU and other stuff, so it's likely that laptop is knackered now.

Anyway, I put the other laptop on, thinking I could insert the flash drive and a box would open on screen with all my saved files for me to transfer to this laptop, except that it doesn't, can anyone tell me where I have to go on this laptop to see the list of files saved on the flash drive so I can transfer/save them to this machine? It's a Windows Vista

Open My Computer and look for a removeable drive, maybe f: or g:, double click on it and you should see your files

On the Start button, may just be called Computer or go to wherever you keep your documents and keep going up a level until you come to it

Try hovering over or clicking on the multicoloured Microsoft "flag" in a circle at the bottom left of the screen. A slab of progams/options should appear in the bottom left of the screen, including a vertical grey column on the right of the slab : click on Computer in that vertical list and see which drives it shows.

Found it now, went to search and searched for "my computer", nothing, then "computer" on it's own which lead me to USB2 [D:] which I clicked and then it give a page will all my files, thanks for the help :)

Noticed something that's annoying me and I can't figure it out, I have the same Opera browser with the same broswer skin as on the laptop that broke, but on this laptop, I can't edit posts.

After clicking "edit", the box opens for me to edit my post but, clicking on save, advanced or cancel does nothing, I thought it might be a javascript problem but, everything appears to be ticked for javascript in my browser preferences, any ideas?

Problem solved, just had a message come up saying my AVG needed updating, I updated it to the latest version and now I can edit posts and the formatting works again.

Do you have the same problem on other browsers, or only on Opera? (helps us figure out if it's a laptop issue or a browser issue).

To add to that, formatting doesn't work either, nothing happens if I click to add a smilie, same if I highlight text and click the B to make it bold, or add an image or url
