Was watching a documentary on history last night where some guy was extracting gold from circuit boards. I had a search on google and looked at a couple of sites covering gold recovery and a couple on investing in gold. I didnt put my details in any sites yet today I get a linkedin request from some guy working for a gold mining company.

It can't be a coincidence so assuming he got my details from a cookie or somewhere. Any ideas?

On an ecommerce site of mine visitors are tracked by IP or hostname.

Most appear as some kind of Virgin/BTinternet address but some businesses appear as their web addresses (I have no idea how this works) Maybe yours is set up like that, they saw your domain and tracked down an email address?

I can't believe it's a coincidence. First time i've been on those sort of sites and next day.... I might accept his invite then ask.
