Creating a custom price comparison for a niche market

Hi Guys

Ive been toying with the idea of adding a comparison feature to one of my sites for a while now and decided to give it a shot (This will not generate me any money, its just a nifty feature i hope my visitors will enjoy). Im building it from scratch and its within a niche market (I dont believe there is one already in this market). Any ways im just wondering, would i need the site owners permission to crawl their site (they dont have a product xml list unfortunately) to show their products and prices?

Any help on this would be greatly appreciated.
