Any ideas of rough ballpark valuation for this domain?

Picked this up a while ago for a very specific purpose, but the project was aborted.

Obviously the singular would be better. And there is no obvious commercial purpose. The dictionary word makes it more than reg I presume, but after that I am a little clueless as to its value.

Also, a secondary question, what is the general price trend in the domain market, is the average selling price of a domain appreciating at any kind of measurable rate?

just to clarify, the domain is crowds.co.uk

I think it's a poor market at the moment. Still some decent sales happening but most dictionary/generics have dropped 50% or more in my opinion.

I think with everyone (individuals and businesses) tightening their belts, they have to think:
1. Do they need the name?
2. What can it do for their business?

And as a seller you have to think:
1. What can it be used for? (possible end users)

At the moment you could sell it on domainlore or another reseller domain auctions platform but I wouldn't be surprised if it only reached £100-£200. So focus on end users:

Possibilities:
Marketing/Advertising
SEO companies/Web Traffic
Seucurity and Crowd Control

*inside each category there are many options, for example under security/crowd control you could approach companies offering security people or even the companies who make the barriers at airports.

I like the domain and personally wouldn't sell sub-£200 but there's a part of me that thinks the generic craze was domainer inflated and that many/most companies prefer to use their own (non-generic) name for a domain.

Crowd sourcing?

Very "in" at the moment - wouldn't that be the obvious use?
