Dead threads

Are people getting bored on here

Not going to mention any names but yesterday a regular user posted a reply to a thread which the last post was 4 years ago :shock:

Today, another regular posted a reply to their own thread which the last post was by themselves in March 2008 :?

What's going on :?: is this a SEO trick to do with archived indexed pages using your sig link ?

I think part of the problem could be the lack of posts, so people mistakingly reply to threads they think are newish but in fact are not.

I think we need to try to revive the forum and get more regular posts going.

I picked up an old thread recently - actually because it had not been properly answered, and I had a good point to make - but it was locked off before I could make the point.

I picked that thread because I found it by searching - making sure I wasn't asking for info that was already on the board. I used it because I didn't want to start a new thread, when there already was one. When it was locked, I had to continue the conversation by PM.

So now I'm making another point -

If someone gets a mail answer for a thread they subscribed to a while ago, it might interest them enough to come back and contribute.

It is too quiet here lately.

The strange thing is that I've been doing better the last couple of weeks off the back of fresh regs than I have been with anything that I've had caught for the last few months.

This downtime for the drops, has allowed me time to re-evaluate what I've been trying to get caught for me. Every cloud and all that!!
