Deamweaver or some other blackmagic

I have been asked to update - BeeBrook - arboriculture and estate management

By changing some headings, adding some text, simple stuff.

However when I have come to take a closer look it seems to be all done with images through Dreamweaver perhaps.

Is this normal when using DW?

They have made it all in images with fireworks/photoshop and then imported it into dreamweaver.

You will need to try and get the original files to edit them, or it will be a case of manualy doing them in photoshop.

You should suggest to them that the site needs the text in text instead of images as the search engines just wont pick any of it up!

May look pretty but as SEO goes the site is all wrong.

I will scrap it and suggest that I start with something new.

Fireworks and Dreamweaver there.

The code is beyond photoshop, and way too time consuming to be wrote by D Dub alone for what something like that would cost, so its more likely FW and DW

You could fairly easily edit the text and header in photoshop using the airbrush and clone, then set the new peices as background and overlay text on top, or simply edit the existing image and replace it.

I’ve seen it used when someone wants a particular font, size of text, layout etc which cannot be easily interpreted to the page... common a few years ago when the designer was not very clued up at all… or if site was done by a printer knocked up in adobe or autostart etc if they insist on keeping it put in some meta tags and think about changing DNS records to point to different places
