domain guard

Over the years ive seen more and more whois kind of spam. Im looking into creating my own domain guard type of service (mainly for myself). but have questions. I know the reg requires the details but dont know whats a must. Stuffed if I can find it on reg sites.

Could I use an autoreponder as an email address, containing the real email details? Could the email, name and address details be encrypted? with the key being obtained some other form?
