Got Chris to change a few caught to 123-reg yesterday

not got 2 domains with this error

"Domain already registered by 123-reg, please use the internal transfer page"

Now I am not sure but I think some idiot 123-reg user stole the name, or 123-reg has an internal problem.

Now the names has my who-is, Tage is 123-reg, but not in my account!!!

Still waiting for support staff to reply my e-mail.

or, more likely, were previously on that tag before they were dropped and are still in the old registrants account.

Never thought about that thanks Fred, maybe I was accusing nobody :p

That sounds about right.

I've tried to reg some drops in the past through 123-reg only to find they were unavailable, when they were available with other registrars. It turned out they were still "attached" to other accounts.

So it's not unheard of for drops to be still in old accounts with 123-reg.

He He :p It's just that when I learned about the way 123-reg transfer works, I kept having thoughts "Hijacking" it's so easy on the 123-reg system.

Thought it happened, guess maybe not.... :(

it seem it's easier for the name to be hijack with Nominet system.

Just bought a name, now lets see how the online transfer goes....

123 Reg Issue

Chaps

General piece of advice, 123Reg as stated earlier keep names hanging around their database for many months after they have dropped / been transferred elsewhere etc, it is a real pain.

The one thing 123Reg does which others don't is allow you to start the transfer process in advance of the TAG change, if the name is still in their system it won't allow to commence the 'transfer in' process.

My advice therefore is always if 123Reg is your target registar is to start the transfer process and make sure you can see the name in your account under 'domain transfer management' awaiting 'checking of IPS TAG', before getting the TAGs changed by another nominet Tag holder.

Contacting their customer services can be 'less than fun' to sort this out if the name get puts back into someone elses account.

Best Regards
