With Brexit looming and non-EEA resident Britons + non-EEA residents (which will then include the UK) being excluded from being able to continue to hold their existing dot EU domains or register new dot EU domains 'post-brexit' , you may be wondering what to do with yours or planning to let them expire.

That's why I say 'post-brexit`. DotEU domains still wanted 'deal or no deal Brexit'.

I believe one way or the other the 'plans on hold' would still eventually be put into action when the UK finally leaves the EU, unless Brexit ends up meaning 'leaving the EU but staying in the EEA'.

Brexit hasn't gone ahead yet and a deal or no-deal situation hasn't taken place. There is actually still a possibility that we leave the EU and UK citizens can keep their .EU domains.

The 'proposed plans' (that are currently on hold) do allow you to transfer to an EU based individual or entity.

I don't know about the independent EU state of Scotland but you sure can transfer to your EU friends.
