dot tv domains - premium keywords

I put an offer in on high-end auto-related keyword .com domain.
The owner has offered me a price on the dotcom and a list of extensions.
The cheapest is xxx dollars but I noticed no-one has reg´d the .tv
It got me thinking about a video ad site for cars where people pay to list their car with an accompanying video instead of just pictures.
Ideas were:

1. A free listing service with adsense until inventory picks up
2. A simple annual payment per vehicle ad
3. A tiered ad system with the photos and vids
4. A full "turn up and do the video for you" service

Although the latter would need some serious consideration as it would take up a lot of time if it became popular (unless I could sub-contract someone on a commission basis and arbitrage the fee)

I need opinions on the .tv extension as I always saw this (alonng with .biz and .info) as a bit junk/spammy

But, if people were posting video listings it kind of makes sense.
Anyway, opinions if you will.

I like .tv and register them when I can't get the .com or .net. They are highly brandable, especially for video sites.

Regarding your idea, I think it's going to be hard to get much user submitted video because there is still a technical barrier for many people.

I agree about the technical barrier, perhaps if it was a run of the mil listings site with the option of videos.
i know a couple of companies will go and do the photos and everything themselves for the listing although they charge a fee.
I´ll have a think about it.
Main thing at the moment is whether or not to buy the domain.
It is a free reg so it´s only $10 if it doesnt work out I suppose.

What is the best/cheapestvsite to reg them bearing in mind I need to move them to my host immediately?

I'd grab it. TV domains are great for video. AutoTrader had to start somewhere! I think it's a great idea especially now that a simple phne like a Nokia N95/96 can take very acceptable video and the cost of entry is small if you were to franchise out areas.
