Hello,
I need to whittle down the number of sites I'm trying to manage so I want to offer these 2 up for sale (plus a couple of freebies) if anyone is interested.

They are:

Primevaltoys .com (no.1 in Google for "primeval toys" & 14 in yahoo), 1767 hits pe month, earn from Amazon & google adsense.

Doctor-Who-Toys.com (no.4 in Google forr "doctor who toys" & 9th in yahoo), 1034 hits per month, earn from Amazon & google adsense.

Both do better around Chriatmas, clearly PT does better now its on tv, DWT does better when its on tv too.

Earned around £10 last month on Amazon, earns occasionally on adsense. Have earned over £100 in one month on amazon from mainly Dr Who.

I'll throw in primevalactionfigures.co.uk & prisonbreak.org.uk (this one gets a lot of searches per month) to go with this.

The guy running doctorwhotoys.net makes a substantial amount of money, this needs a similar amount of attention/effort and then it will earn good money, the google/yahoo ranking gets you half way there.

Would anyone like to make an offer for these 4 names (primevaltoys.com/doctor-who-toys.com/primevalactionfigures.co.uk/prisonbreak.org.uk) starting at £150 the lot?

I want to shift these no matter what, so if you have any interest please register it here.

How many uniques you getting for PrimevalToys??
Interested in the analytics on that site if you have it installed.

Feel free to pm me.
Cheers

My offer is £150 for the lot.
How long before you close the sale?

Thanks for the offer, but as I told you privately, these are earning £300+ per annum with zero input, so I'm simply not going to sell them for half that amount.

I had thought there might be more interest.

I've been pondering these and how Amazon is performing, and the conclusion that I've come to is that commission from Amazon is crap.

Between these they've created well over £2500 in sales, and I don't believe Amazons reporting.

Firstly, Amazon appears naturally above doctor-who-toys.com if you search for doctor who toys - I can't imagine that if someone lands on their site from a natural search, then goes back out into the results and goes via my site back to Amazon & buys, that they'll credit me with the commission.

Secondly, if people have cookies disabled they don't count, and;

Thirdly, and most importantly, I firmly believe that if someone lands on a website, clicks a button/link to look at a product, and are promptly redirected to a 3rd party site, that it destroys any confidence in the original site and deters them from buying - they might not want to buy via Amazon apart from anything else.

For these reasons I have decided to work with Character Group, the manufacturer of most of the most popular Doctor who & Primeval Toys, and to redevelop the sites to sell directly to visitors.

I think that this will result in a significantly higher number of sales, and I'll make 40%-50% GM on each sale instead of an average of 6% to 7%,

so, would you mind closing this thread please admin.

Thanks.

you should have stated your asking price correctly in your first post then - I contacted you on the basis of the amount you were looking for - 150...

You contacted me to ask me how much I wanted for them, I told you, and you promptly posted here offering a fraction of that amount.

Clearly I wasn't going to accept what you offered, you already knew that, so what are you complaining about?

You knew the price and decided to offer less, and consequently I'm going to develop them myself.

You have to admit, thats a good point.

Also, it would take 5 mins to knock up a site based on a similar name and earn a few quid from Amazon, so I would go down that road as these have been removed from sale.

you offered them for 150, I wanted to know how much you would take (on the downside of that amount...) so contacted you.

You said 450.... I mean - WTF??! Are you Terry fkn Tibbs?

I posted here offering you exactly what you asked for in the post - you say no - fine - keep them

Yes I said FROM 150, knowing what I'd accept.

I know I'm making 300+ with no effort.

I told you I'd accept 450, you decided to offer 150 - which clearly i'm not going to accept when it does twice that without doing anything - what do you think I'm going to say?

Firestars - You could go & register a similar domain, but you're not going to be 4th & 1st in Google respectively are you?

You: Would anyone like to make an offer for these 4 names, starting at £150 the lot?

me: Yes theres £150

You: I want £450

HAHAHA!!!!
I guess if someone offers 450 - what then - you´ll ask for 6 grand?
If you have no intention of selling at 150 - dont put it in the friggin post.

It's very easy to say that you'd overtake me firestars, but I defy you to actually do it.

It doesn't really matter what domain names you have, it's where they appear that counts, and although a lot of people claim they could rank very highly in google "if they could be bothered" etc, the reality is that they couldn't.

If you'd like to prove me wrong by knocking a site together & outranking me, then please do it - there's only character, kelkoo, tescos, etc below me for you to beat.

As for you Andy, you asked for the stats and the price, I told you, and you offered less than it currently makes, so obviously I'm not going to accept.

Why are you even bothered if you think it's too much, or are you upset because you too can see the potential from these sites is worth significantly more than you offered - in fact why don't you go register something else & beat me if my sites are so laughably overpriced - be sure to tell us the domains you're going to outrank me with.

It seems to be the week for arguements on this board :)

Listen chap, I dont have the time or desire to go scrabbling around for a couple of hundred and a bout of willy waving.

Well done on your sites.

I cant really be bothered - thats why I want to buy cheap sites with revenue and ranking - otherwise I´d just buy domain names....

I aint wasting my time with people who advertise at one price and then bung the price up by 300% when someone makes an enquiry - pretty stupid and your sale thread in now bolloxed ;)

You enjoy working on the sites that last week you just wanted to offload.

Thanks for making my points.

It's all too easy to flap your tongue about how easily you can get a site to rank, but when it comes down to it it's easier to resort to penis related pedantry & retreat with the ususal lines "if I had time/if I could be bothered."

This translates to "I can't do it."

As for you Andy, you clearly have absolutely no business acumen whatsoever.

Do you seriously think that anyone is going to sell you something for half it's value you divot?

Have you never been to an auction? They start with a low price to encourage interest - at no point did I say these are yours for £150.

You asked me privately for the price I'd accept, I told you what that was & why, then you publically offered 1/3rd of that & complained when I wouldn't accept it - you are therefore an idiot & general waste of time.

I can say with certainty from previous experience that I can at least triple the sales from these sites with very little effort & make 40%+ from it - that works out to £3200+ in profit - and you're wittering about paying £450 for them!

I was going to sell them because my time is taken up on other more significant projects, but I'm not going to give them away - I'll spend a couple of days on this & let them run.

You say that you prefer to buy developed sites with revenue than build them - thats because you CAN'T rank them, and you just turned down 2 very highly ranking sites for the sake of a few hundered quid.

They start with a low price to encourage interest

Well you fell on your ass there then didnt you?

I can say with certainty from previous experience that I can at least triple the sales from these sites with very little effort

So run along and do it... yawn

Dont band about prices that you are not willing to accept. You stuck a price up, no-one but no-one was interested....
I made a minimum offer (YOUR minimum offer) and you got a sad on and threw your (rex the dinosaur) teddy out the pram.

Next time stick a reserve on and stick a BIN price on and stop clowning around wasting peoples time.

As for ranking, your primevaltoys site ranks because of the keyword domain. Nothing more. I see your backlinking campaign is off to a flyer though - with all 5 links showing up in YD.
Why dont you tell everyone where your site ranks for the word "primeval"?

Sorry Dash, I think you made a mistake with the way you worded your first post.

Greywing - fair enough, point taken.

Andy, I have no interest where it ranks for primeval, I'm only interested in people who are searching for primeval toys.

When you learn a little about internet marketing you might understand why, but I won't hold my breath.

This thread is now closed as far as I'm concerned.

Yeah, you´re a real expert arent you?

Criticising amazon.... hahaha your sites much better innit?

Just out of interest, where does scrapgold.org.uk rank for the phrase "scrap gold"?
Expert...
