Hi all,

It's been a while since I've been on here or bought any domains - but this still seems to be the best board - so I just thought I'd ask for any opinions that anyone may have on drop catch software. There's a list here http://www.***********/order.html (ok, the board doesn't like that so I'll try again http://www.e x p r o n.com/order.html [without the spaces]) and I wondered if anyone had any experience with them? I know that some of the server side scripts would probably be better but I'm not sure I have the time to set them up just now. So, any views on the software? The Enom Instant Domain Grabber one looks good to me (but it's been a while since I bought any domains!).

Thanks!

Don't even waste your time in the TLD market. It's already sewn up by the catchers as they have agreements with all the major registrars, so technically, they never drop.

The monopoly should not be allowed, but that's how it works.

Exactly so. Easy to get sucked in to messing around with a registrar's API code but a total waste of time.

Yeah, fair points about the big registrars and the catchers. Cheers for that.

Maybe I'll go back to looking at .uks. I failed miserably a few years ago (had more success with .coms as it happens!) but with websites like detagged.co.uk and dropsystem.co.uk maybe I'll have more success this time. I've given up on scripting myself as it takes too bloody long for little reward (that probably just says more about my programming skills though)!
