Out of curiosity, if a name is in suspended mode and the calculated drop dates are 10/15/09 or 10/22/09 (for example), could they drop either day? Could they drop throughout the days in the week? Ideas?

Best,
QFCO

Skinner,
Thanks for the feedback. Is there any reason they cancelled the 99th day drop?

The 92 and 99 day cancellation reflected the fact that there were 2 slightly different types of renewal mechanism for Nominet domains, one of which required a final 7 day warning letter before deletion (hence plus 7 days).

I can't remember exactly what the difference was between the two, but as reported above it is now standardised on 92 days, unless the deletion is held up for a variety of reason, in which case it can drop any time up until years later.

Don't believe me? Check out this beauty - it's been suspended since March 2006 and still hasn't deleted...

In which case it was suspended 6 months before the registrant company was dissolved, therefore it may still be subject to a dispute over it as a transfer, etc.

Thanks for the feedback folks. Makes sense. Curious as to why GardenerTravel.co.uk is a beauty? Are there any requirements from Nominet to register names?

I meant beauty in the sense it was a great example of a long suspended .co.uk domain, not that it was a beautiful domain lol.
