Has anyone used escrow dot com?

When you use it you're given three options.

user name/password
authorisation code
push

What one do you use if you're transferring a domain to a US company?

I select "push" when it comes to a Nominet registrant transfer.

Push should be selected when the Seller is transferring the domain name to an account at the same registrar it is currently in.

Authorization code should be selected when the domain name is changing registrars.

Username and Password should be selected when the Seller is giving the buyer the log in details to take over the account the domain is currently in.

I have found escrow.com to be a good service. But keep in mind you won't get the full amount you are expecting. Apart from the escrow fee, you also have to pay an extra fee to have the funds wired to your bank account, and the banks involved will also cream off another small percentage from the exchange rate. These 3 costs combined can take a significant chunk out of 3-figure and low 4-figure sales.

Thanks Jasman - but unfortunately bank wire fees are expensive! And, dependent on how/where you bank - the fx fees can/will vary.

Escrow.com offers multiple disbursement methods with varying fees depending on the Seller's choice. While a wire transfer to a domestic or international bank will incur a $20 or $40 fee, respectively, we also offer the option to receive a paper check sent via regular mail for no charge.

Buyer's with a US bank account can also receive an ACH for a one-time $10 fee, meaning future disbursements sent to the same account will not incur any fee.

You can view our fees here - https://escrow.com/support/fee-calculator.aspx

Thx!

Choose auth code. Then provide the buyer with the auth code for the domain. They'll log into there account and use the code to complete the transfer.
