Experiences of concert ticket affilliate schemes

At last! A 'future' domain purchase has paid off.

The group have started an official tour and tickets are on sale now. I need to get earning from this website and quick.

Ticket affiliate schemes - I've no experience, any recommendations?

Experienced advice needed. Ticket sales commission, vs. Google links to ticket sites. Any comments most welcome.

Quick update, I'm number one in google and I had 1,254 visitors to the website yesterday. Do I need an experienced partner to ultimately earn more from this opportunity?

Ticketmaster on Buyat - terrible comm
GetMeIn on Buy.at - nice comm
SeeTickets - independent program - decent comm

Don't do ticketmaster either - no cookie (or maybe it's only 24 hours) so if your punter doesn't book there and then ticketmaster will take the sale and cash when they return the following day....

That may be true but they can be attributed to 50%+ of my commission so a big slice of cake to miss.

Fair enough.... what were you running - concerts or sports events? Sports events i tried previously and they were something like 0.01% conversion... appalling... but it was because punters like to compare and therefore not having a 30 day cookie scuppered it as a viable option.

I assume concerts potentially might be the same - ie. people shoppgin around... but then maybe not...

There's plenty of other sites offering 30 and even 45 days on the sporting events (and concerts) so works fine with out them!!! They just have the largest brand I would say.

Yeah their brand certainly drives the volume (despite having a painfully slow site imo) as having spoken to a few people they've never heard of See etc.

Done mainly music and theatre. A bit of sport (NFL in London) but didn't really actively promote this.

See are pretty good (comm = 18% of booking fee) although you only get end of month stats - can't measure performance mid month which is a real shame.

GetMeIn & VioaGoGo are good - C% not that high but commisison more than makes up for this.

I would probs scrap Ticketmaster if it wasn't for the size of the brand! 25p a ticket is laughable unless you generate substantial volume!

I've had a look at viagogo and getmein, as they operate on the same principle. I wonder how many people are going to want to get into an auction and then pay 15 to 20% fees on top.

I'm going to give seetickets a go, apparently they sold 9 million tickets in 2007so they must be doing something right. Will update thread if I have any success with them.

Agree with David aboiut ticketmaster, garbage commisions and tiny cookie duration.

A tailored white label for seetickets or xml option that opens within your site and allows you to put a prominent "Is your even sold out? - click here to trackdown tickets" or similar link that fires off to viagogo or getmein would be a nice solution.
