I'd like to register a .com domain name that has gone past it's expiry date. It *should* be in Redemption-Grace period (for 30days), but it's still in registrar-lock.

Shouldn't the *registrar* have deleted this when it expired? How long do they get to keep it?

Confused

Depends on the registar, Enom do an ERGP (Extended Grace) usually 60-90 extra days after which the old owner gives up the rights to their domain and Enom seem to keep it.

Also if your trying to get an expired .com you'll have to wait until the traffic recyclers are done with it (providing it has 0 traffic) as almost 100% of .coms that expire are re-registered by various companies now to test for traffic.

I'd say use Snapnames if you really want it.

Cheers for the info. I've gone will pool.com for now (found the snapnames site a little lacking in ease of use).

Will pool.com (or snapnames for that matter) get it any faster from the original registrar? Or will they too have to wait for the registrar to delete it?
