Hi,

I wondered if anyone could tell me if it is possible to learn where exactly a site is listed on Google for a particular search term. Obviously if its on the front page its pretty easy to find but if it ranks lower is there a 'non-manual' way of trying to find out where a site ranks?

Hopefully this question makes sense!?

Cheers,

Paul

don't know of any automated way besides playing around with their apis (even then not sure if that works).

a quick cheat is to switch to advanced search in google and set results to 100 per page. you can then do an easy in page find via your browser.

If it's not on the first two pages (200 = 20 normal google pages), then its safe to say its way down there in terms of any ranking (don't think you need to be any more accurate then that).

Thanks!

Thanks to everyone for taking the time to share their time and advice. Very much appreciated.

Cheers,

Paul

How much Google like the page is usually called PR [Page Rank] of that particular page. This depends on the number of factors, the keyword density, keywords in h1, h2, h3 tags and the back links of the page.

The more points explained above and well content, a web page is the more PR that page will have.

Try to install SEO PR checker Add-on for Firefox this will easily tell you, the popularity of every page that you visit.
