i was thinking that there must be good domians dropping each day that people have not back-ordered, because it would be impossible to know every combination of what makes up a "good" domain name, thus you can't pre-order what you don't know about?

Therefore if you don't know what your looking for, but know whats good when it becomes available you can get some nice drops?

hope that makes sense?

Consider theres somthing like 4 million names in the .UK registry but 30 Million in the .com registry. The current .com zonefile is freely available and it would be highly unlikely a good .UK domain would be registered without the .com being registered. So if you cross checked the .com zonefile against .UK you would get any worthwhile combination.

I do often catch names on the drop that never appear on deleting.co.uk.

It all comes down to time, effort, a bit of money, luck and knowing what you and others want, there's even great .coms that aren't regd, even .coms that are for sale for $1500 on sedo but $6 elsewhere - madness.
