IMO this is why they're a bit stale at the moment - just making things bigger/smaller/faster.

Love the reference to stealing from Microsoft! MS have been "stealing" / buying technology all along!

All the big players in any market buy up or "steal" the ideas they find are the best for their needs and I can't see any of them stopping doing so. I used to work with someone who left to join a large car maker, their new job was to take a competitor's car to bits and write reports on how they could improve their own cars.
