I was visiting a client just before Easter. While in his office, I’ve noticed an old mini-computer and, to my surprise, it was an Excalibur by Archford Computers. Now, last Century I use to code in PICK (multivalue database) and the OS itself was very “picky” and could only be used on a handful of mini-computers. Archford was the only UK company making minis with PICK preloaded. But it had a funny twist in it, being a successful company - it’s CEO managed to get several millions in investments and … disappeared into the jungle of South America. Company got dissolved and, as far as I know, managed to make only very few minis. They were quite expensive at that time (about 25K a piece) and I doubt that any of them are still around.

Finding a working Excalibur is like finding living dinosaurs. I am trying to find as much info about it as possible but unfortunately could not locate anyone who used to work for Archford or know anything about their minis.

Does anyone from my generation of forum members have any information about this?

Nice puta, I would say you're better finding someone who deals in antique computers.

You say a client owns it - You seem to have a vested interest in it ;)
