French Taxi Drivers Stepping Up Protests Against Uber

French taxi drivers are getting very upset about the expansion of UberPOP and are now making strong protests:

They see the service as unfair competition.

The surrender monkeys protest anything, did you see the ferry thing ? where the striking company blockaded the port with their ferries, and then set fire to lorries to block the roads so none of the other ferry companies could operate either ?

It would be like EasyJet deciding to park planes across all the run ways, and then setting fire to trucks at all the entrances to the airport.

Nuke them from space, I say, its the only way to be sure.

i am kind of waiting for them to clock that it's a German name/word they are protesting against, at which point they shall no doubt just say sorry and go home.

It wasn't quite as dramatic as that - they set fire to piles of tyres, which blocked the roads leading up to the port so that lorries had to park in a massive long traffic jam.

The pictures I saw showed some kind of metal frame work, I didn't even see tires in the pictures, looked like flat bed trucks burning. I only skimmed the stories but they said they blocked the port closing it down totally sending people to dunkirk.
