Having a nightmare

Trying to get access to my own site!!

I made sure ftp was enabled in my admin control panel then
I try to log in (using a mac & Fetch) I know all my details are correct and its still saying password / login error????

I know they are correct as I use those details to view site stats!

Anyone else encountered this?

It's not uncommon for ftp passwords to be set differently, and to get out of sync with a control pannel login.

In cPanel/WHM there is an option to sync FTP passwords in this instance.

You sure you have the require one of SFTP or FTP?

My hosting control panel doesn't have a sync passwords area?!

Will keep digging and trying but the hosts (Telivo.com) STILL haven't replied to my problem as yet :(

This function allows you to change the password allocated to your hosting account, it will alter the following:

* FTP login password
* FrontPage login password
* Web Statistics login password
* SMTP authentication password (if applicable)

and most importantly

* Hosting Control Panel login password

^^^^^^^^^^^

Have tried changing the password and that doesn't cut any ice either :(

Are you trying to ftp using your root account?? Most servers have root ftp disabled.

I am sure you have, but you'll kick yourself if not... have you checked caps lock and num lock?

eetc

Maybe its your ftp client. Goto in Windows, START >> RUN >> cmd and type ftp mydomain.com

Does that connect/accept your user/pass ?
