Any reccommendations on getting rid of this fu**ing, C**ting Tw**ting thing

Stupid Mcafee is useless, i've ran full scans then it can't fully remove Genric pupx.

I clear the cache and cookies and do a full scan, same problem.

So i clear everything and run a full scan, same problem.

This is seriously doing my head in.

Any advice on getting rid and what exactly it can do, phishing or tracking cookies i don't know

Help please !!!!!!!!!!!!!! 8)

Just to say, i'm falling asleep on my pc right now so will respond to any replies in morning when i get up.

Thanks Andy

WikiAnswers - What is Generic PUPx it keeps popping up in virus scan as a Potentilally Unwanted Program

You need to run these 3 essential programs to remove all the spyware on your computer.

If you do not have an internet security suit and only an anti virus

1. Run Malwarebytes Anti-Malware

2. Run a complete scan with free curing utility Dr.Web CureIt!

3. Run the anti spyware removal programs spybot or Superantispyware

Browsers
Use Mozilla firefox or the google chrome browser for browsing unsafe websites

Generic PUP.x | Threat Center - Spyware and Virus Removal

That last link, the bottom post says this:

1. ran mcafee, it found what it calls generic pup.x ,, and its added parts try and removing it “it will get rid of the added parts”

2. get on the internet, go to internet options and delete all of this.. “Browsing history, temporary files, cookies, saved passwords, etc…” or just the temporary files and cookies…

3. then run mcafee agen, it should not be there

When you look at the place where it is it will make sense, it is stored as a temporary file

Thanks for all that info, seems i have a few things to do in order to get rid permanently :(

I will look the products listed on Wiki.

I use to have something called bazooka but it simply stopped working, i found out it's programmers/licensers decided to scrap it

Thanks Andy
