G update

anyone seeing a G serp update in the few days?

I've seen some quite big changes occurring in past month

Around 3 large changes that's impacted one of my sites and competitors in past 30 days

Not seen anything on my sites all stable. But seen a lot of chatter on other forums suggesting the same but G are making updates virtually on a daily basis.

2 weeks ago the .co.uk top of page 2 - the .com was nowhere to be seen.

today the .com is top of page 1 and the .co.uk - nowhere to be seen.

There are multiple algorithms with lots of variables been tweaked all day every day, its only the major changes that affect a good % of the SERPs that get mentioned by Google.

They also roll out changes and then roll back changes, quite often.

Going by the chatter looks like there is something on the boil, chatter is that a long awaited penguin update maybe a foot, also PR update due very soon.

But it looks very likely like at G is in testing / tweaking mode before a roll out my gut feeling is a penguin update within the next few days.

Ive noticed changes over the last few weeks on a good number of my sites (both positive and negative results).

No doubt google will be upsetting many folk as per usual

An update is now 100% under way... all but confirmed, significant changes are being seen across the board so good luck guys may it be a positive one

But not the expected BIG penguin update that's expected some time in the near future

Update #2: On May 10, 2013 at 1:46pm EDT, Google's head of search spam, Matt Cutts said on twitter that this was not a Penguin update. So we can cross that off the list.

See what happens over the next couple of days

That doesn't mean anything, thats just people saying that for themselves as usual. Even Google says:

"We have nothing to announce at this time. We make over 500 changes to our algorithms a year, so there will always be fluctuations in our rankings in addition to normal crawling and indexing."

That doesn't mean anything, thats just people saying that for themselves as usual. Even Google says:

Agreed. But depends on the level of chatter to how big the update is as a general rule.

"We have nothing to announce" is the general position of G i think we will see a lot of testing over the next few weeks in preparation for the new penguin update, which is rumored to become the biggest talking point of 2014
