Does anybody else have the gambling bug,i used to be a bit of a player at one time and have lost vast sums but i was just wondering what the most you ever lost and what do you like a flutter on?

Only ever gambled online with card.

7K USD in one sitting on blackjack. This was back in the old days when free sign up bonus existed and other free money was available. There was a whole set of casinos that all used the same software under different names with no play through conditions. Madness.

The 7K was from a free $25 sign up. Spent about 6 hours straight and then just got misty eyed and doing $500 dollars hands.

I suppose overall I made profits of around 6K USD and spent that on various things.

Stopped playing seriously when the conditions got silly on play through etc.

Does anyone remember Jaboom ? Now that was free money :D

i was chatting the other day about losing £30k on chelsea a few years back they were playing in a cup game against minnows and they drew, they fielded a reserve side and i put my money on when the draw was made which was a mistake because you don't know what side would be fielded.

You lost £30k and you call it a bug? How much do you have to lose before it becomes a disease ..... or indeed a problem? ;)

well i did lose my business so yeah it got bad,the thing is with gambling is to keep confident,i needed money so was betting on anything and everthing and i didn't do my homework so got stung,i usually bet on football and boxing i do not touch the nags or dogs because they are usually rumbled,i bet £500 on john murray to win at boxing last week and found out the bet didn't go through because my credit card on file had expired :x ,and the company i use didn't inform me....dohhh

I'm not a gambler, but will have the very occasional flutter. I opened a Blue Square a few years back with £10 and have never added to it.

My biggest win to date was a bet on the winner of Big Brother last year, which netted me £100, which was around the same time as a £50 win on Spain winning Euro 2008.

I can understand after those wins how it would be easy to start a serious gambling habit .... not that domaining is much different at times!!

thats the thing, you probably hit the nail on the head, domaining is a gamble when you register the domain you think it is worth more than what you paid for it,so i am drawn by the gamble,i know there are millwall fans on the site but i remember when they played forest of the premiership when they were in the 2nd div and they were 5/1 to beat bottom of the table forest who had nine players missing and low on confidence and they won 2/1 and i put £5k on millwall to win.

I had a spell quite a few years back were I had a sort of "system" going with roulette games machines in bookies. Idea was go in with enough money and repeat / increase your bets till you won..........

Go in with £200 come out with £300+ most days, worked real well for quite a few months, Until I blew £1k in 3 hours in 5 bookies  . (but it was winnings money)

I felt so ill and wanted to be sick, it just stopped me dead in my tracks.

Lucky if i get a lottery ticket nowadays.

i used to do that old trick with the roulette, online though.
think most have stopped this as you can only get away with it a few times then you have to move on to the next, cant be arsed anymore.
all i can say is "jackpotjoy" dread to think what iv lost on that bloody site!!

Aye, I've done a bit. Fun when it's small amounts, but I got pissed one night several years ago and lost 4K $US on poker. I'm not the best poker player when I'm sober, so decided then to stop playing poker. Perhaps I should have decided to stop drinking, but **** that :)

I know this sounds like pop psychology, but it is true. If you can afford to lose what you are betting then it's a bit of fun.. If you are betting to chase a loss then you are f**ked...
