I think Next wouldn't actually mind - think of all the additional free publicity they're getting because of it so far, and how many extra people would potentially visit the store if he won to have a little look at Roland on all the modelling shoot photos. Can imagine it would be very funny indeed.

All my opinion of course, but it's not bad for marketing.

I'm out of the country and have no idea what's going on, except that it appears the youngster in question didn't win. If you think about it; is it any surprise, after the Sony article and Cowell's subsequent and staunch rebuttal?

Some nasty comments in the comments section of some newspapers about this kid. Whether there is any truth to rumours or not, it's odd that they are taking it out on him. He lost by about 2% so the negative press likely lost him the competition. Hopefully it won't matter, though many singing acts from Britains Got Talent seem to disappear without trace after the show has ended.

You would have to be a complete retard to think that any of the big reality shows on TV aren't entirely manufactured. You've got more chance of getting on a normal show than a reality one. A good friend of mine ended up playing Sid in Skins on ch4 for 3 series with no acting qualifications, well maybe a GCSE. I doubt he would of got onto any reality show.
