i have 2 .uk.com emails i use

also there are lots of well ranked .uk.com websites believe it or not
surprisingly so

thankfully I have no .uk.com domains or any other sub domain type domains

Pretty sure this is a nasty twist of old bitter politics involving past and current Centralnic owners/board members.

Certainly a kick in the nuts for anyone using gb.com domain as their business and really really publicly undermines Centralnics whole offering in principle of selling subdomain services. However I'm 99.9% certain that key assets such as uk.com and us.com are 100% under the control of centralnic so theres no worry about this happening with those.

I have one gb.com ... registered for vanity purposes a long time ago... It's not currently hosted so I've not seen this message....

However after a whois look up it seems to be pointing to the correct nameservers but the details held are mainly right, but old details and some have been altered... to say I live in the region AE (Arab Emirates?) with the dial code of +971..... weird....I'll be asking my ISP to update details!

This was bound to happen at some point with one or other Centralnic fake-ish domain extension, and now it has...

That's the reason why I have always leapt into the discussion on here any time somebody asked about a something.uk.com or similar SUBDOMAIN. You're 100% at the mercy of a single private party, i.e. the owner of the domain name that the subdomains are being sold from. Not a good situation to be in.

Regardless of how this resolves itself, hopefully this is the wakeup call that will finally disabuse people of the notion that a something.gb.com or a something.uk.com (or a something.*.com) is an acceptable substitute for .co.uk.
