Anyone currently suffering an issue with Gmail?
Not had any mail since 2pm this afternoon (spam included).

Anyone else?

Yeah last night but today been working fine, now down again.
Just wondered if anyone else experiencing the same?

It's crazy how everyone goes on Twitter and goes mad about a Gmail outage...

Mine seems fine (I am using the paid service)

ahhh!!! you see theres the problem if you don't pay you have a little hamster running around a wheel,if you pay for the service you get electricity....or it could be google trying to lure customers to pay for there service...

"This raises the issue that far too many businesses have naively migrated their essential systems to online, cloud-based resources without considering business impacts if those go down for any reason, and therefore don't have backups in place to continue business operations in the event of such an outage."

That's the fundamental problem with cloud. You are entirely at the mercy of others.

have to agree in all sense of the quote, especially funny though, is that 'Cloud computing' or 'commodity computing' (as I heard it being called today  ) is supposed to save you money.

However, all is not lost. for vendors & service suppliers there will be a very nice stream of new business whom to sell your wares and then on contract to service the clients ... so for some it's got to be attractive (imo)

Security in the cloud? a bit of a joke really. So for that reason I won't be ...
