Okay so i have just registered a .uk domain name at go daddy. I dont own the .co.uk. The domain has passed and it is now showing in my account.

But heres what is strange. Im going to use this domain as an example. ( paydayloans .uk)

^ Go daddy will allow me to purchase this domain, Even though paydayloans .co.uk have the rights?

Why is that?

Because godaddy is a pile of doo doo. Never ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever use them for uk domains - there are plenty of uk registrars from uk who actually know what they're doing.

Who would you consider the best to register .uk domain names with. Someone i can talk on the phone to before hand?

thanks

I assume the .co.uk version shows a creation date of 10 June 2014 or later. If it is pre 10th June 2014 then that would be a worry and you shouldn't have been able to register it as that domain will have the rights.

I just tried a random .uk on there that had co.uk RoR in place, it took it out of my basket during checkout saying I couldn't register it.

Nominet wouldn't allow the registration. If it was possible all the good ones would have been swiped by now.
