It is rare that I agree with you, Philip, but I do agree with your sentiment.

OTOH the outcome of the enquiry into such cases is usually the determinand of what happened.

If someone, prisoner or officer, is found to be at fault, it is a "disgraceful lapse in security".

If no individual blame is attributed, a jury of his peers has found that the continued existence of the victim is an offence against society. It's a jungle in there ...

We do not allow prisoners the right to vote, let alone the right to decide whether another prisoner lives or dies. That is why this incident is an utter disgrace.

Regardless, it is distasteful to see the incident viewed as some kind of triumph of natural justice - when in fact the prison itself has failed to perform its legal purpose.

The law does not allow prisoners the right to vote. Nonetheless, they have opinions, and they have moral values. Because of the nature of his crimes, the victim in this case is a "classified nonce".
Perhaps if the other prisoners had the right to decide who they shared their environment with, his existence would be continuing in Broadmoor or Rampton - as recommended earlier in the documented evidence.

Ah yes, a typical doodlebug response. I do realise that it's a bad idea to get involved in these tasteless threads, it's just that I can't bear to see the stupidity go entirely unchallenged.

From reading the article, what I find most depressing is that he was allowed out on bail to commit more crimes. The nature of his crimes should've triggered warning signs early on. Imagine losing a child in such a way, and then being told that the guy had a history of commiting such abuses.

I am 100% certain, that if filth like this were in the general population in prisons instead of being protected through segregation, that a lot of them would be able to control themselves and not commit the evil crimes in the first place.

If this guy had lived for another 50 years in prison it would cost the state at least £5m - when we have pensioners and WW2 veterans frightened to put the heating on in winter, there is something wrong with our priorities.

Humans have been around for approx 200,000 years , it's only the last 200 years or so that you havn't been allowed to kill someone in order to protect your family.

So who's right ? the people of 200 years or the people of 200,000 years ?
It's nature to protect your loved ones or seek revenge for someone harming them so the fact that someone else did it for them is good

Perhaps they should be. But that is a matter of law, and we do not have the death penalty in this country. Therefore it cannot be considered a victory when our rubbish prisons allow one thug to murder another thug while in supposedly secure custody.

If I'm to be honest Phillip that did come to mind but I don't know how many child sex offenders get attacked in their system but yes you're right their prisons are violent and there are still child sex offenders.
