google adsense help?

hello acorners, i have just about completed my first minisite, got the affs all on content etc, got the google search on but cant get the google ads on, no matter where i plant the html it doesnt appear, does the site have to be live before i can add this?
would be very very happy if you can help?

Putting Adsense on a locally hosted site will normally only bring up public service adverts.

Also, since Google changed things a couple of months ago, adverts dont appear for up to 10 minutes when you add them to a live site.

thanks for the help firestars, but should they show up on the site before its live? as i cant tell if they are where i want them....

As before, if you have them set up to show public service adverts in the event of there not being any advertisers for the keywords on your pages, then these would be shown on an offline site.

If you are seeing nothing at all, then you possibly are not adding them correctly.

One thing to remember is that if your browser has a javascript blocker you'll need to allow the various guises of Google to allow the ads to show. The ads may be working, but simply not showing due to your browser settings.
