Google answering questions on tax avoidance

Recent news highlighting the governments concerns with googles tax affairs in the UK have been shown alot of TV yesterday and today. Do you think public pressure put on starbucks could be similar to google.. Think bing/yahoo might gain some % search back?

Governments should make tax law, not taxpayers.
The taxpayers should comply with the laws the governments make and organise their affairs to make them as tax efficient as possible.
The problem arises when governments make bad tax law, maybe they are afraid companies won't do business here, or whatever.
If we don't like the tax law we have, we should look to the government to change it, no-one else can, not even Google.

Agree with the above.

There will be no boycott of google. You hear it all the time, from radio to programs on the tv. They all say the same. They do not say "do a search on it" they say "google it". It is inprinted on the masses.

Same as there will be no boycott on Amazon. You can get a coffee somewhere else on the high st but you cannot get the same price or level of customer service as you do with Amazon. I know people buy from me on Amazon, use the product for a fortnight and when they are finished with it, contact Amazon and say they are "not happy with it" and Amazon are happy for them to return and give them a full refund. No questions asked.

I then get a perfectly working product returned to me (which i also have to pay Amazon to return to me) but I cannot resell as the cellophane is off the box and the software serial has been used.

Where else are you going to get customer service like that?

These are global companies and a global tax solution has to be found.

Ireland are laughing at the moment but just like Jersey, the loopholes have to be closed.
