I am trying to improve a clients site SEO/Content but its on a very restrictive CMS that will only let me changes the most basic of things.
Because of the crap CMS the business is losing alot of sales to its competitors from outside of the local area.
Other than completely dump the CMS, which I don't think they will do, I am thinking of suggesting building a landing page for the business on the .uk domain, which could then be SEO optimised, but continue linking to the current site for sales (Because it is basically a shopfront type CMS)
Now I am pretty sure I could rank the new site higher, but how is 'G' going to see this? Am I going to have to choose which site it gives priority 'canonical tag', losing all the juice on the current site?
Are there other negative effects in using both domains?..(other than potential confusion for the user)
