Made a handsome sum last year on Mon Momme.

All I did was follow this (page 3) and bet on all the horses that matched the criteria. images.racingpost.com/pdfs/RacingPost_Sweepstake.pdf

If you are having a bet look out for bookies that pay out on five places (PaddyPower usually does) and bookies that give guaranteed prices (so if you take the price at 10/1 and it drifts out to 25/1 then your bet is settled at 25/1). Plus, be careful placing a bet before the day of the race as it may be on an antepost market which typcially means if your horse is a non runner then you do not get your money back.

Most online bookies now give best odds guarenteed and if you look on a bookies site some say non runner no bet so you get your money back if it doesn't run even though anti post

True on the main bookmakers. But it is a rule that the regular punter may not realise and if they go to somewhere like SportingBet then they would get stung by their antepost rules.

I allways get carried away putting down money but never win. Should just put a couple of quid down next time!

I've calmed down on how much I gamble knowing that lost bets could have been more fresh reg domains :D

A sweepstake is a great idea.

[Perhaps for fun each person could put up a low value domain (free to transfer - so not UK - perhaps a org, net or info). The winner would then get the domains. ]

The easiest way to do the sweepstake is perhaps for people to select a number from 1-40 before Thursday (final declaration stage and when running numbers will be announced). If it is unlikely that 40 people would enter then perhaps each person selects five numbers...

Yes its a mugs race as we all know, but your missing a big trick if you dont have a go on cloudy lane as I said earlier, 50-1 and a 1/4 odds each way at bookies, great bet.

Was co Fav in 2008 and although only come 6th then, will be better on Saturday :-)

Cloudy Lane all the way lol

I slapped my bets down last night on my fav 3 with paddy. I went with Comply or Die, Big Fella Thanks and Don't Push It. Now I have some money left in the account, so thinking of putting a 4th on, as it seems most people are going for 4 bets.

Got to decide betweem Can't Buy Time, Madison Du Berlais, Cloudy Lane and Piraya (just coz it sounds like a pornstar name).
