I just sold a domain and for bit of fun, and sort of a reverse appraisal, I am inviting users to guess how much I sold it for.

There is no prize, except maybe smugness?

The domain was - scottwalker and it was a .co.uk

It had .uk rights, though the buyer never knew that

Guess away!:p

I would be very surprised if it was more than £1000. At a (very quick) search I can't see anyone of that name who could justify needing their domain on a commercial basis.

But all it takes is one egotistical loony so who knows.

Bought for £5, plus feeling smug, plus started a thread about it which suggests higher end of the smugness scale.

I'll go with £3000.

Quite the opposite, my smugness never crossed my mind, and when you see the price you will see how wrong you are, which could possibly make me feel a bit smug. ;-)

On which note I will say that Murray is the closest.

I'll go with £150.

There's nothing wrong with spending a few quid protecting your own name from being misused, or using it as your site if you're a sole trader, or a personal homepage if you fancy having one.

As usual everyone but you is egotistical/immoral/scamming/ an idiot etc etc.

Give it a rest, it's boring

Almost as boring as a thread bragging about making a couple of hundred quid.

Bizarrely old chap you seem to suffer from exactly the same affliction as Monkey.
Why bother posting? The constant need to put others down is symptomatic of low self esteem.

It's toxic to online communities, and I'd prefer to see this one thrive.

Bonus Media is correct £150.

See nothing to brag about, just a bit of fun, and a bit of an insight into peoples personalities.

Another reason I posted is that this part of the forum is dominated by RSS feeds, maybe discussing sale prices might lead to a better understanding of domain worth?
