Heart Internet and hidden limit

Thought I should post this as its been a problem to our operation using them.

Didnt take long to find that Hearts reseller hosting has a no shock limit, the limit is also undocuemtned. We host a few small client forums and came across a small problem. While uploading a new 200Mb IPB database we where told to decrease the database size or else.

After writing to support this was the reply.

we send out emails at 100MB database, this is really a 'soft' limit. Nothing gets implemented until a database size reaches 400MB.

Sounds about right. The 'unlimited' debate has been going on for years. It's all marketing bluff. Companies like this often have very low limits inplace on packages - they simply don't tell you.

You would be better off going with a company who are a bit more realistic about their offerings.

found another limit while moving host

Heart have an automated account disable after 2Gb bandwidth usage within an hour. Moving a TAR'ed site archive brought a site down for 35 hours after finding this little gem.
