Does seem odd, if it's it non recipicol then it wouldn't benefit him in terms of SEO.

I doubt it will hurt Acorns ranking because this is the original site and probably native to Google.

If he gets you extra visitors then a bonus for you 8)

No it won't, because it directs here with all your links and your domain name.
