So last year I bought footballforums.co.uk and had a go (in vain) at developing it. I've decided to give it another shot and would love to develop a really great community.

I was hoping that some of you horrible lot would help me by registering and posting the odd comment and helping the site look busy while I grow it. Even if you aren't into football, there is a general chat section and any comments/registrations are much appreciated!

I am happy for you to put a site link in your signature so you are benefiting from posting too.

If you can help, you will be doing me a massive favour! Please visit www.footballforums.co.uk

Will do, but you really need to lose the Jersey spammer he's not doing you any favours :D

I know what you're saying. I neglected the forum for the last six months so spam has built up but you wont see any more. I think this guy was a one of culprit.

Never going to work in its current guise.

I, like many supporters of Championship teams, have no interest in the Premiership (unless we get there)

On a personal level I also have no interest in any other team apart from my own.

So, I would look at the format that rivals.net took. Offering individual forums, handed over to forum 'managers' for individual teams.

You certainly have the DN for it, so there is no reason why it wouldnt work.

Thanks for the tips mate. What makes you think the traditional forum format wouldn't work?

I just tried checking out rivals.net and it looks like its down.

I would love to have a full on social network but dont know the first thing about programming unfortunately :(

Jersey spammer - Well he's back, and posting drivel. KILL,IGOR

If he comes back again then I'll delete him - he has got 70 posts though and even if they are spammy, I need all the posts I can get atm!

I'm working on a network of forum communities at the moment, so if you want to exchange ideas drop me an email!

It's a very nice looking website, but I think it could be a better idea not having it all in a folder titled 'forums'? It could all be hosted on the domain without being in a folder. (Unless of course I'm missing something, as I know the 'UK Business Forums' website is structured in the same way)

very good time to have a football forum because the BBC 606 football forums are closing and footy fans will need to find new homes at the end of the season..

good luck with your venture

fansi099 is just as big a dud as jersysyin - another one in it for the link juice.

And there you are, leaving all those fluff posts up and welcoming the latest member, who is trailing the message "come and join MY footy forum" in his signature.

It don't look good, Marcoose ...
