Host Europe buys Heart

I don't think people need to worry that the same company who own 123-reg now own Heart, because, from the article, it says the people who founded Heart, are the same people who founded 123-reg:

Heart was founded by Jonathan Brealey and Tim Beresford, who also established 123-reg and Webfusion, both of which were acquired by Host Europe in 2003.

oh but you do have to worry, when they sold it and left the helm 123-reg went right down the pan IMO

Great.... Heart Internet, the one and only company in this game I've never had any shit with...

Sigh..... hopefully it wont go to the dogs :(

Just goes to show how artificial it all is when crap companies who don't know what they are doing (technically at least) end up expanding the most and having the biggest market share.

Wonder if 123-reg made them sign a deal this time that means they won't go and set up a rival for x amount of years.

No doubt the guys will be back, I'm not their biggest fans but can't argue with the success they have made in building up a business like that twice.

I had a number of hosting accounts with www.xcalibre.co.uk for years with out a problem, great service / support.

Then there were bought out by webfusion, WHAT A NIGHTMARE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I can’t tell you how many problems I had and how much time I spent banging my head against a brick wall, speaking over the phone / tickets.

After reading on here I was going to take out a hosting package with heart at some point, sooooo glad I read this thread :D

After the buy out with xcalibre, a few months later they moved most of the hosting from xcalibre servers to webfusion servers this is where the fun started.....

Then they started to move the control panels, its still to painful think about so I going to stop there :)

Yes, I was with Xcalibre too for several years with no complaints and I remember when they were bought by webfusion. I moved hosts immediately, having had enough shenanigans with webfusion/ host europe in the past. From what you're saying it's a good job I did.

They can have a menage a troi, 1and1, 123-Reg and Heart now :)

Wonder if that is another 3% voting rights at Nominet come AGM time.

Had a call today after my post here yesterday and I have to say the man was a true gent "Ricky" and was genuinely trying to help.

He has restored some faith in webfussion in my eyes (because of his professionalism and manner) and definitely new his stuff...

It’s a shame there faults have not been completely ironed out yet, but I was told there in the process of doing this (some points I raised have been in the pipeline to being fixed for nearly a year now though).
