Let say I own LondonRestaurants dot com and I find a good misspelling of my domain (london restaraunts) using Googles keyword tool and it has a reasonable amount of hits.

I check the domain - its free. I register it - what then? How do I actually get that potential traffic to my main site?
Also, how can I add the misspelling phrase to my main website without a credibility problem?
I am put off any company when i see any punctuation spelling errors on their site. So whilst I want the traffic I dont want the misspelling to be visible.

is it really that simple?
Is that the best way to take advantage of a misspelling?
I have found two misspellings of main keywords for one of my sites.
They get about 120 searches a month for both of them.
I will register them both as domains and simply point them at the website???

Or should I give them some content - a front page and then all the links deep linking to the relevant subjects on my website?

Is it not better to try and have them rank as individual sites/pages? I really dont know!

I'd just use 123-reg.co.uk or heartinternet.co.uk I think both offer free forwarding services, which should work fine. Google pre empts spelling mistakes when typed into it's search, so there would be nothing gained by ranking it for that misspell.

In my opinion, if you want to maximise the potential of misspelling, then you want to build pages and rank for them.

Owning the misspelled domain is good for direct address bar typos only. If you want to leverage the serps then build pages.
