How do I know if a UK domain worth registering?

I'm looking into buying a couple of domains.

The first is a 3 word domain.
It has a total of 14 characters (excluding the .co.uk)
Doing a Google search it yields: Results 1 - 10 of about 101,000,000 for...
Google advertising down the right hand side is full when I search using the 3 words.

The second is a plural of the domain above
So it has 15 characters
Google search yields: Results 1 - 10 of about 92,600,000 for...
Obviously google ads are the same in volume.

What other factors would you research to see if its worth the reg fee or not?
Would the above stats make it worthy of your interest as a more experienced domainer?

Am I on the wrong path for research?

The stats you quote don't mean anything WRT a domain name.

The phrase "mortgage and in" has 12 characters, gives 122,000,000 results in Google, has 10 high paying 1st page advertisers, and MortgageAndIn.co.uk is free to reg right now.

Try looking at the CPC and the exact match search volume on your phrase. I wrote a bit about how to use it here >> Exacts.co.uk earlier today to answer this sort of question...

Ah I see so my approach has been all wrong.
I must point out that the domains might be lower in search volume due to their early status in the field of their emerging market. I anticipate that the search will increase.

Cool. For emerging markets try using Google Trends to see the historic search volumes and news volumes. If it appears from nothing and is rising that is a good sign.
