How do I price a super premium domain for sale?

Well then if I was you I would value the domain myself. As it is very hard putting a value on someone elses domain as they are all unique.

Im sure you have already put a value on your domain name and that is the one that you will sell it for.

For instance, if someone came up to your tomorrow and offered you $40,000 for it. You would obviously either accept it or reject it. If you rejected it, it is because you have a minimum amount in mind that you will sell for.

I think its all about how much the domain name is worth to yourself and also to someone who wants to buy it. If it was very valuable to yourself, you would probably have a website on it making lots of money.

Hi,

Since I am in no position to value an asset such as this, I will continue to work on ways to develop a market set pricing. I think it is always better to let the market set the price. Also, I continue to seek ways to monetize the site and am working on several ideas at the moment. Hopefully, one of these ideas works out.

I think the trouble with names like this, though, are that once you get into the realms of 6 figures... which I believe this name is... the price very much becomes dependent on what someone is willing to pay (yes, I realise this is applicable to any asset to some extent). But what I mean is it's not like a keyword domain that you can price up on the basis of how many hits it might get from Google if it ranked on page one, and thus the market is clearly defined.

The market for premium "brand" names isn't as transparent. I dare say the previous owner of slots.com wouldn't have expected to achieve anyway near $5.5 million for their asset, but it was what someone was willing to pay.

To be honest I'd probably suggest you ask for this (and any other threads referencing your discussion about price) to be removed from the Internet. I wouldn't have thought appearing to be unsure about the price would be a positive thing when it came to negotiating a high-end price later down the line.

Just some thoughts.

Hi Peter,

I totally agree with you. I am very confident that in time, I will be able to arrive at market price. There is already discussions about providing better venues for developing market driven prices for premium domain names. In addition, I am still quite hopeful that I will be able to develop the site myself as I continue my ongoing research efforts. With a two prong effort, there will be a satisfactory resolution.

The use of the phrase 'Super Premium' is hilarious, it actually devalues the domain imo.

As for someone giving you 6 figures for a domain like that, come on, its becomming a vanity name for you, and probably your dream is to develop, but the more you try and sell the more you realise that development is not going to happen.

Maybe list it with that other Super Premium domain, Social Network

Got to agree with these comments, if it was that super it would have been sold a long time ago. If it was advertised for sale on here, i doubt there would be much interest even at a low £xx,xxxx price.

I dont know that much but i agree, with the google monster ramping up its efforts to get rid of sites that buy links, it needs some other outlet.

Maybe sell it to Links of London the jewellers?

If you've had several 6 figure offers, surely you can agree on a price with one of these people and sell it too them. Its not as though your gonna sell this domain for millions.

There's been no resolution after a month & a bit this thread has been going. Hopefully it can now be put to bed given the OP seems to have examined all possibilities & has the considered opinions of many on here and elsewhere?

I have spoken to several people who have super-premium domains and they are facing the same problems as I have. So, we are all looking for and trying out new ideas.
