If I see an EMD that has say 9000 searches per month (just UK), then if I could do something with that domain (and its a generic phrase) would that be a worth while purchase?

Thanks

search in Google for the phrase.
did many adverts show up?
(this will give a clue regarding monetising with Adsense)

Thanks for your reply.

4 ads showed up for the term with me signed into Google. 8 ads in a different browser where I'm not signed in.

I prefer analysing demand for the product service, ease of listing high, if there are dominant players, chances of a return etc there are plenty of high volume searches you’ll never make a penny from...

If by "worthwhile purchase" you mean unhyphenated .co.uk, then just maybe. If it's hyphenated, or .org.uk or some other minor extension, then 99.9% unlikely to be worth the effort.

Its a .org and the market is pretty huge generally and the domain is along the lines of "Selling[Market].org" (Market being like cars, clothes, electronics etc).

Imo the market it is, the .org really does suit it well.

Also according to Keyword tool in adwords, its low comp if that would affect the decision to register or not.

Thanks guys
