How safe are .me domains?

As in, given they're a ccTLD, could the country simply at some point put restrictions in place or withdraw then altogether?

Just wondered. I've seen some people pay good money for certain .me domains and I just wondered whether they were safe or could be clawed back by the country, should it wish.
