Just looking at the iteddy thread. More interesting is the trend for e & i prefixes. Which can only do the domain industry good.

Patter seems to be:

e/e- for internet commerce e.g. ebaby, and
i/i- for technology/business with internet base e.g ipod, itunes

One thing for sure, it's going to generate a legal battleground in the future, and we've only seen the first skirmishes.

DRS needs to get a grip on this one though. The possibility of more big business wanting to launch their products onto this are with retrospective marketing / trademarks will only increase.

They've been around for years and are quite good.

But you're right, you can't have the likes of apple nicking domains - or other cases that are better examples.

Probably should have said and 'increasing' trend. The i & e prefixes are gradually seeping in to the awareness of the more 'mature' internet users. :)

Yeah even thou I have iteddies I think the "i" part is pants of course....

I wouldnt normaly register an "i" .. but i thought compelled on this ocassion! ;)

I suppose youve gotta to be in it to win it ...

speaking of e-type domains.

I have just lost eharmony.co.uk, despite the fact that I owned it before eharmony.com had the trademark. Watch out guys the DRS is making a mockery out of us.
