I never registered the .co.uk!

I have a site that I never registered the .co.uk for some dumb reason! Must have been an oversight or I had it and it expired I dont know but around 2 years ago someone else running same business has registered the domain.

Design is different so theres no mistaking which person site your on but its clear they only registered it as I got the .com .net etc. So now they ranking the same if you search the business name.

I would really prefer they not used the domain even better result would be to sell it to me but think thats unlikely...

Any advice on other options

You're almost certainly out of luck, though if you think you have a legitimate claim (i.e. trademark protection, or similar) you could try the DRS route.

But if it's a descriptive domain name then there's nothing you can do.

Yeah I thought as much, a wonder if a polite telephone call might convince them to change their domain

A polite hand-written letter and a large cheque might do the trick... Especially if you don't imply it's somehow "your" domain that they've taken (which is not the case)
