I am just curious what your thoughts are about the opinions here...see the poll and please post any comments.

Please post what you think, and not what you hope :)

My vote is #1, with some wonder whether its also a paring down of built up inventory that would have happened anyway.

A few high value sales maybe wakes up sleeping domain owners, so I'd say cruises.co.uk and the like have played their part.

TBH I didnt even notice there being that many more for sale. I voted "people are just getting rid of their build-up/froth" as dont believe it is any of the other reasons.

Scott and Steve, I'm hoping you are all right - and if I had to bet I'd take your opinions over mine considering how long you've been at this.

The economy over here is in such a mess - we really know how to elect our leaders in the U.S.don't we! - that I'm more anxious in every business venture these days.

So far it seems that the general opinion is that its may be a little bit of all of it, but not as much of the first two as I suspected.

I think people may be realising profits. The economy is a bit flakey and you can see price drops in lots of different markets. Some may be selling seeing a decline on the horizon, others are cashing in due to uncertainty in jobs maybe.
plus you need to sell cruises.co.uk etc in order to be able to afford a new mortgage.:D

I haven't been in this for long; internet yes, domains no (kicks self!) But the general sales seem to be a normal level, but more top class premiums are appearing. I think because the big sales have woken people up - both sellers seeing £££ and buyers looking for premium names before the prices go up further.

hi

Lot of people do not know where to put their cash, as good investors are holding lot of cash( cash is the king at the moment).

And trying to invest small in risky(high return investment products) to make up their yearly markup's.

Hope it makes sense.
