Just got a new Sony Vaio laptop with Windows 7 just tried to put our contact management program Sage Act 2007 but it will not install, i have spoke to Sage and they have advised me that they do not support Windows 7, does anyone know how to get round this or had the same problems?

Hope you find an answer. I wouldn't hold your breath for Sage though. Their software (new and old) wouldn't run under 64 bit Vista either. I ended up sending new software back to them for a refund because their packaging wasn't clear enough that only Vista 32 bit could run it, and I ended up running the old accounts PC with the old software because it was going to be an expensive pain in the butt to change to an alternative package. It irritates me no end to have a pc running which should really be mothballed!

If you have a version of Windows 7 which supports XP mode you are licenced to run a virtualised copy of Windows XP inside of Windows 7.

You can then install act on the virtualised XP and either access as full desktop or just run Act as a single virtual app.

Google Windows 7 XP mode for info.

Cheers for your responses guys, ended up buying Sage Act 2010 £250 for 3 licenses, 30 day invoice and got 50% off for my moaning lol, now the printer wont work will have to get a 64bit vista driver then install that on each laptop with windows 7 as the server is running windows 2000! The joy of getting a new computer, some times its more hassle then it is worth!

Well, that's the penalty you pay for upgrading to something that is not going to do anything better than the old computer, except be upgradable in the future.

LOL we humans don't think faster, and the computer industry trades on the fact that we will wait a few seconds for the answers to come through the system. If things were programmed to work faster, we would have a reason to upgrade.

But then, those programs would run faster on the old computers we have ... so the industry has to keep the fiction alive until we are all running a system that is incompatible with the last one, THEN we might get software that is truly fast ... I'm not holding my breath, though.
