Does anyone else find this the most demanding piece of software you can install on a computer - i spend ages a day waiting while it checks if its up to date or not
and the bundled quick time is something i could do with out its a bit like real player half its programing is to make it your default player
- pain in the neck!

It is crappy but its still one of the better ones. I had a Rio 20GB one before and the software was pants, would take 5 mins just to put one song on.

When I got my Ipod I put 4,000 tunes on it and never hooked it up to my pc again.

Nothing to do with that:

You can manually check for updates to iTunes, or set iTunes to check for new versions automatically every week.

To manually check for new versions of iTunes, choose Help > Check for Updates.

To have iTunes automatically check for new versions every week, choose Edit > Preferences, and click the General tab. Then make sure the "Check for iTunes updates automatically" checkbox is selected.

When automatic updating is turned on, iTunes checks for new updates weekly. It checks only after you have quit and restarted iTunes at least once during a seven-day period

Ive no doubt never listened to 90% of them.. but thats not the point :-D
